Last year at Auto Club Speedway We Don’t Lift dealt with punctured tires, an unclear parking situation, and general chaos. This year, the Motor Massive event went much smoother. We were able to pull the NSX out of the trailer and swap her brake pads before getting a full night’s sleep. In the morning, we set up our booth, warmed up the car, and met with the other Global Time Attack participants for the driver’s meeting. Breakfast consisted of powdered donuts from the gas station, and lunch was leftover pizza donated by Roy Narvaez.
The California track quickly heated up as the weather became humid and smoggy. We hoped to beat our personal best of 1:17.35s from last year, and we knew we had five sessions to do it. We were able to get our new brake pads worn in, as well as adjust our brake bias to compensate for the different compound. Unfortunately, we experienced technical issues with our filming equipment, and were unable to record outside of the car. However, we ended the day with victory. We cut down our times every session, until finally, in the last session of the day, we secured second place with a laptime of 1:15.703s.
